EFC Students rewarded for commitment to learning
A packed audience of families, dignitaries and staff celebrated the outstanding achievements of students at the Epping Forest College 2012 Awards Ceremony.
The ceremony, which was held in the College’s theatre, rewarded 84 Learners in total. They were selected from a range of backgrounds and abilities, and were recognised for their hard work and dedication this year
Prizes were awarded by Chair of Governors Di Collins and the winners’ achievements were praised by the guest of honour, Deputy Mayor of Loughton Town Council Jill Angold-Stephen. Mrs Collins also said that she was proud of not only these students but of all the students at the College.
Heads of Department read the award nominations for each student explaining the exceptional standards achieved both academically and in terms of contribution to college life and support for their peers.
Principal Jeannie Wright said: “This evening is a personal highlight in the academic year. It allows staff, family and friends to acknowledge the achievement, perseverance and hard work undertaken by both students and staff at the College.” She praised the success of this year’s students from across the college and reminded everyone that great teaching has the power to reach people and inspire them.
During the ceremony the audience was entertained by the College’s Music and Dance students, a well as a video production from Level 3 Media students.
